An internationally recognized artist, Mantra is especially fascinated by entomology – the study of insects. Inspired by memories of his childhood garden in France, he paints moths and butterflies on urban surfaces all over the world. Mantra works to create organic relationships between his subjects and their environments. Each artwork features species native to the area, making it possible that a live specimen might flutter by its enormous counterpart. His depictions of varied species are always spectacularly beautiful and scientifically accurate to the last detail.
